Oh! Children of Poseidon!
Where are you now?
Are you wedged between the Triangle?
Pulling ships and planes in spiteful rage?
Did the earth swallow you up?
And expunge you at sea?
With all your gold and silver?
Could you not trade and leave unscathed?
Or were stakes too high?
And your time ran out?
Now you sit at the bottom of the sea
Eternally grieved,
Haughty eyes,
Your pride intact.
But still, at the bottom of the sea
Oh children of Poseidon!
You sank.
Weren’t you elevated amongst all cities?
Weren’t you the talk of the world?
With your beautiful women and eloquent men?
Weren’t you the hallmark of civilization?
An envy of all?
Oh foolish children of Poseidon!
Your greed overtook you!
You said you must conquer the world
But you were conquered, driven to the bottom of the sea.
And though you wailed and cried for mercy,
Not even your father Poseidon could intervene
Rescue you from the rage of the sea.
You wrote your fate,
And now you must lie on your bed-
At the bottom of the sea.
